Privacy Policy — AstroBella Astrology for ChatGPT

This policy explains what happens to the data you send when you use the AstroBella Astrology app inside ChatGPT. The short version: your birth data is used to compute the chart you asked for and is then gone. It is never written to a database, never written to a log file, and never sent to anyone else.

It covers the AstroBella Astrology app for ChatGPT and the server behind it, reachable at https://astro-mcp.astrobella.com/mcp.

It does not cover:

• the AstroBella mobile app and website — those have their own policy at astrobella.com/privacy, and they process data differently, including accounts and stored charts;
• ChatGPT itself. Your conversation is processed by OpenAI under OpenAI's privacy policy. We receive only the specific parameters the model sends us for one request — not your conversation, not your account, not your chat history.

4.1 Chart input data

When you ask for something that needs it, ChatGPT sends us a birth date, optionally a birth time, and either a place name or a latitude and longitude. For a compatibility comparison (synastry) the same is sent for a second person, plus any names you chose to label the two charts with.

This data exists only in the server's working memory, for as long as it takes to answer the one request — typically well under a second. It is not written to a database, a file, a cache or a log, and it is not transmitted anywhere. Once the answer is returned, it is gone. Two identical questions produce identical answers because the calculation is deterministic, not because anything was remembered.

About the second person. If you ask for a compatibility comparison, you are sending us another person's birth data. Please only do this if that is appropriate. The same rule applies to it: it is computed with and discarded.

Several features need no personal data at all — current planetary positions, retrogrades and moon phases are answered without any birth details.

4.2 Server access logs

Like any web server, ours records each incoming request: IP address, date and time, HTTP method and path (/mcp), the response status and size, and the client's user agent string. Requests arrive through ChatGPT's infrastructure, so in practice the recorded IP address is usually OpenAI's rather than yours.

The request body is never logged. Birth data travels in the body, so it does not appear in the logs.

Logs are rotated daily and deleted after 14 days.

5. What we do not do

• No accounts, no sign-in, no passwords. The app requires no authentication.
• No cookies, no tracking pixels, no analytics, no fingerprinting.
• No advertising, no profiling, no automated decision-making within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.
• No selling or sharing of data, for any purpose.
• No outbound requests. The astronomical ephemeris and the place database are files shipped with the server; nothing is looked up from a third-party API, so your birth data cannot reach one.
• No training. Your data is not used to train any model, ours or anyone else's.

6. Recipients

The only parties involved are:

• Contabo GmbH, Welfenstraße 22, 81541 Munich, Germany — provides the virtual server, acting as our processor under Art. 28 GDPR. Contabo has no reason to access request contents, and birth data is never at rest for them to access.
• OpenAI — operates ChatGPT and forwards your request to us. OpenAI is an independent controller for your conversation; see their policy linked in section 2.

There are no others. No analytics provider, no CDN, no error-tracking service.

7. Where processing takes place

The server is physically located in the United States (Contabo's Newark, New Jersey facility), operated for us by Contabo GmbH in Germany. Requests are therefore processed outside the EU.

Because birth data is never stored, the only personal data that rests on the server at all is the 14-day access log described in section 4.2 — and, as noted, the IP address it records is normally OpenAI's infrastructure rather than an end user's.

8. Retention

• Birth and chart data: not retained. Processed in memory, discarded with the response.
• Access logs: 14 days, then automatically deleted by log rotation.

9. Your rights (Betroffenenrechte)

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

• access your data (Art. 15);
• have it corrected (Art. 16) or erased (Art. 17);
• have its processing restricted (Art. 18);
• data portability (Art. 20);
• object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21).

In practice: because we keep no chart data, there is normally nothing to access, correct or erase. A request concerning the access logs can only be acted on inside the 14-day window, after which the entries no longer exist.

10. Children

The app is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly process their data.

11. Changes to this policy

If what the app does with data changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top is updated.
